Welcome to KYBH.ART!
My name is Katherine Yvette Biddle-Hentic, and my passion for the arts has been a constant presence throughout my life. I find joy in experimenting with various techniques, natural materials, and discovered objects within my artwork. Over time, my work has evolved into an exploration of my relationship with the world, seeking to understand the dynamics of presence and absence, the seen and the unseen, and the interplay between seemingly disparate elements.
______________
I combine and experiment with diverse materials and components, allowing my creations to take their own path throughout the process. I view my art as an exploratory study, initially focusing on traditional aesthetic elements represented through illustration and oil painting.
______________
When my vision declined during my college years due to diabetes complications, my perception of the world shifted, leading me to discover a newfound appreciation for abstraction and its ability to reflect my changing relationship with the environment. Although my vision has improved through surgery and rehabilitation, I still enjoy some aspects of illustration, but in more fluid forms.
______________
I create art that invites interpretation and encourages the audience to establish a personal connection with each piece. By doing so, I aim to inspire viewers to discover new connections between the elements, the arts, the world, and their own lives. As an artist and educator, I am dedicated to expanding my concepts and deepening my connections to my influences. I eagerly anticipate where my artistic journey will take me in the future.
